Siddha Speaks - 01 - Agathiyar About Thiruvonam Days

Agathiyar's order!

 Greetings to the devotees of Agathiyar!

Apart from a human being, even if other creatures/souls (all the living-beings) leave their physical body, humans' prayers are required to help them attain moksha. Therefore, Agathiyar asks all his devotees to perform the following prayer on the specified day after sunrise and before sunset.

Every month on Thiruvonam Nakshatra, pour water in a copper vessel, add some Tulsi leaves, turmeric powder & some edible camphor (pachai karpooram) in it and sit facing North or East direction. Keep your right hand above the water vessel and chant "Om Shri Maaya Maalane Namaha" for 108 times. Then pour the water on the soil. Before doing this, one should pray to Lord Perumal that, "We are doing this on the order of Agathiyar. Please accept this and grant moksha to all the creatures."  Agathiyar has said that he will accept the tirtha/prayer that we offer on the soil and ask God to grant moksha to those beings. There is also an Arul Vakku which states that the life of the one who prays will improve!
